If you’re like me, overstressed by your calendar, perhaps you should find the time to relax and follow a new course given in Changins (near Nyon), by l’Ecole du Vin. This technical school, specializing in agriculture and viticulture, l’Ecole du Vin offers sessions for amateurs at reasonable prices. And the director, Romain Cellery, found it would be wise not to ignore the English-speaking population living in the area. The new courses - given in English by a wine specialist - will take place on four evenings (4 hours each). During the first, students will learn to differentiate flavors and describe the appearance of wines. Then they will train to recognize aromas and comment on individual bouquets.
They will taste a lot of whites, rosés and reds. And, at the end, the new “specialists” are expected to be able to “describe wines in an organized and precise way”. Cellery says every session is one third theory and two thirds wine tasting which sounds the right way round.
The price? 620 Swiss francs for one module.
The date? First session 15/04, 22/04, 29/04, 06/05. (Next session 04/11, 11/11, 18/11, 25/1.)
