October 30 and 31 and November 27 and 28, 2009. Chef Anupam Banerjee of the gastronomic Indian restaurant Rasoi by Vineet (in Geneva’s Mandarin Oriental Hotel) is giving cooking lessons. Rasoi means kitchen in Hindi, and the establishment is a signature restaurant of Vineet Bhatia, the Michelin-starred Indian chef at the exclusive Rasoi Restaurant in Chelsea (London). Banerjee trained with Vineet, and shares his high-end, creative, ”evolutive” style of cooking.
The lessons start at 9 a.m. with coffee and juice and an introduction and guide to Indian cooking (equipment, herbs and spices), then move on to a demonstration. Around noon, participants will taste the food prepared during the session and learn some valuable tips about wine from Rasoi wine experts.
The theme of the October sessions is ”Tradition”; that of the November sessions is ”Spices.” Registration deadlines are October 25 and November 22 respectively. Cost per person: 140 Swiss francs.
For more information and to register: call 022 909 00 06 or e-mail rasoi[at]mohg.com. More about the restaurant at www.rasoi.ch.
