A concert and good food in total darkness at Blindekuh, Zurich

December 16 and 18, 2008. The Blindekuh (blind man’s buff in German) is a restaurant in the city of Zurich run by a foundation for the blind and partially-sighted. Its aim is for sighted people to experience what it is like not to be able to see, so eating takes place in the pitch dark. Service is by blind or partially-sighted people. The restaurant’s international (and reasonably-priced) fare is “creative and tasty”, according to the 2009 Zagat Europe’s Top Restaurants, which it is listed in. And on these two evenings, there will also be music. The program is called “Ring Them Bells” and it’s Gospel singing with Christina Jaccard, whose website wwwvoicejaccard.ch bills her as “the Zurich lady with the black sound.”  Reservations absolutely essential.
